I was coming to the office today by my bike as usual. But unfortunately the spring of the side stand was broken. So that metal stand remained in the DOWN state touching the road all the time during my journey. It could be quite dangerous whenever I took sharp curves while driving, so I was driving cautiously. No shops open to make it repaired as it was early morning 8 AM. Even I didn’t try it to fix the stand by tying it with any rope temporarily, but I took risk.

But it made me face blessings from so many respected citizens on the road, saying like -”Hey, your side stand, pull it up… Can’t you see? … Hey babu, kallu dobbiniyya?…Intlo cheppe vachhava?”. I kept on saying the reason to them.

Need to make the side-stand good, back to the original state!

Btw, our Hyderabad citizens are so generous and good…..Helping nature?

You may never know that his entire family spent almost all night long by chit chatting, discussing some fun things, watching the TV now and then, screaming with happiness randomly etc.

You may never know that he bought some new clothes.

You may never know that they are going to visit a pilgrim place.

You may never know that he is a very very happy man.

But I know that it’s all because of your deed.

We do some deeds or good deeds for the benefit of others but we may never know how the beneficiary is celebrating…. I think it’s quite good for me to see all these things as a third person….

It’s lonely writing. You sit all by yourself in a room while other people in office buildings stand around the movie gossiping and spreading awful rumors like extra-marital affairs,infidelity..

You sit all alone in a room while people in cubicles discuss things like pay checks and insurance.

So, you spend hours alone writing. Then you spend hours looking at the words you have written and wonder what made you think that you could write in the first place. I mean, people are not chosen as writers. There’s no certification. There’s no test. They just decide themselves. I just decided. “Mmm,” I thought. “I’m going to be a writer. It sounds romantic.”

But the thing is- it is not personal. It’s not about you. How that could be? That person doesn’t really know you, understand what you want, or hear the murmurs in your mind. All that person knows is himself/herself.

If anybody moves on or badmouths you/your work, it’s not personal about you. It’s personal about them. Their agenda, their decisions, their story.

So buddy, do your work, the best way you know how.

Well, that was definitely a situation that stretched me.

Looking back, I know that it was a good thing to happen – it became clear to me that we all have more capacity and capability to do way more than what we generally do on a daily basis.
Plus, nobody can stop us from artificially creating situations to stretch ourselves and grow.
Your Boss may have many opportunities to create such stretch situations. At that particular moment, you might criticize your Boss but (in the future) almost always you will thank him for creating those situations.

Bang!! And yes, we won the World Cup Cricket-2011!!

But you know, even a ‘core dump’ has a great value in software development. We do core dump intentionally in order to debug and analyze the issue causing situations….
